Rescue training

Courses offered within the Technical Rescue program are typically those courses that fall within the scope of the NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications. Specific disciplines included in this program are Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Trench Rescue, Structural Collapse, Vehicle and Machinery Rescue, Surface Water Rescue. Disciplines included in the standard, but not offered by the Institute at this time are, Swiftwater Rescue, Dive Rescue and Surf Rescue. Ice Rescue training is available on a limited basis. Although not included in the standard, Grain Engulfment/Entrapment Rescue training is also available within this program. Other topics related to technical rescue fall within this program area.
